Leading aviation consultancy group, IBA, has cause for optimism following this year’s Farnborough Airshow. “Order activity at this year’s event vastly exceeded those placed in Paris last year, illustrating the confidence that is slowly returning to the industry” notes David Rushe, Commercial Analyst for IBA. “At list prices, the airframe manufacturers racked up almost US$29 billion worth of orders. The orders were dominated by leasing companies who seem again to be dealing directly with manufacturers rather than relying on sale and leaseback deals with operators.”
