As Phil Seymour, President and COO of IBA Group, observes “Alice has worked for IBA since 2005, and this accolade reflects not only her dedication but also her astute and analytical mind. IBA is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Brooker, who joins the global aviation consultancy in a new role heading up their busy technical department.

Paul has an extensive background in civil aviation spanning over 30 years and his previous positions have included roles at Aero Nusantara Indonesia, the Malaysian Air Services Agency, BAE Systems, and Monarch Aircraft Engineering.  He brings a wealth of expertise both as a Part 66 EASA Licensed Aircraft Engineer, and in the fields of aircraft manufacture, maintenance and project management.  Paul has also been actively involved in certification issues for both civilian and military applications.

James Uniacke, IBA’s Head of Asset Management comments ”Paul’s skills are of the highest calibre and I am confident he will play a key role in the Company’s future development.  His appointment further strengthens IBA’s regulatory, technical and asset management capabilities and the broad project management work conducted for our diverse, global client base.”

  • IBA announce sale of Embraer ERJ-145EP on behalf of Continuity Air Finance. - 06 November 2012

The International Bureau of Aviation, IBA Group, is pleased to announce it has successfully placed, through outright sale, an Embraer ERJ-145EP, with MSN 145113, on behalf of London-based client Continuity Air Finance.

Built in 1999, the Embraer ERJ-145EP was formerly operated by City Airlines in Sweden. During the course of the remarketing period City Airlines ceased operations.  On behalf of the owner, IBA Group successfully managed the repossession of the aircraft and its records in an efficient and professional manner, enabling Continuity Air Finance to fully to recover its asset.

This sale further strengthens the capabilities of IBA in the aircraft remarketing sector and demonstrates the value of its broad range of capabilities.  Adrian M Lee, Head of Aircraft Transaction Management at IBA, comments “We were delighted to have concluded this sale on behalf of such a respected and well-known leasing company.  In particular, coming nine years after I completed the first ever secondary market sales of an ERJ aircraft, this demonstrates a consistent record of success in a challenging sector.”

The aircraft was bought by Regional One in Florida, USA who will place the aircraft into operation with a European lessee.

For more information on the aircraft currently available for sale through the IBA Group, or the remarketing services offered, please contact Adrian M Lee on or visit

  • IBA’s Consultancy team continues expansion in line with market demand. - 25 October 2012

IBA are delighted to welcome three new staff members to their Consultancy team.

Already providing valuations, appraisals, data services, commercial and technical consultancy, the new influx of talent into this important and busy department will further increase the resources and
expertise available to IBA’s diverse client base.

The three new analysts, Carmen Wong, Huda Syed and Kim Seward – all high-achieving
graduates with a strong passion for aviation – bring with them considerable and varied
backgrounds of experience. This complements the existing team, which already has
comprehensive aircraft, engine, operational, technical and fi nancial knowledge.

Carmen Wong, who holds a BSc in Aviation Engineering with Pilot Studies from Brunel, also has
a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) and recently worked as a contracting engineer at 3M UK Plc.

Huda Syed joins IBA with a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and
a Master’s in Finance from Strathclyde. Huda recently worked as a researcher at a hedge fund
management company.

Kim Seward comes from a family with a strong aviation tradition, holding a BSc in Biomedical
Sciences from Durham. Kim’s enthusiasm for aviation developed further while at University,
where she was a vital part of the Northumbrian university’s Air Squadron.

“This is an exciting time for IBA, we received over 200 hundred applications for these roles and
so were able to handpick the three most talented and passionate individuals to join our team.
Collectively bringing knowledge of modelling, fi nance, materials, engineering and operations,
I am confi dent that we will feel their positive impact on the team quickly” Comments Dr. Stuart
Hatcher, IBA’s Head of Valuations and Risk.

  • International Bureau of Aviation complete lease placement of B757-200. - 24 April 2012

On behalf of Israel-based client, Global Knafaim Leasing limited, IBA announce today the successful placement on lease of a Boeing B757-200 passenger aircraft, to National Airlines of Michigan.

Built in 1990, the aircraft’s serial number is 24543 and it has Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4 engines. IBA were exclusively mandated to manage the remarketing of the aircraft by Global Knafaim Leasing Limited in December 2011. The new lessee, National Airlines of Michigan, USA, will operate the aircraft as part of their existing passenger charter operation.

This placement further strengthens the long-running relationship between IBA and Global Knafaim Leasing.  Adrian M Lee, Head of Aircraft Transaction Management at IBA, comments “We are pleased to have completed this new transaction.  It sees the aircraft placed on a well-structured lease with an established operator. The performance of the remarketing and asset management team, and our track record with other similar remarketing mandates, shows that IBA are well placed to secure a successful outcome for all parties involved and complete projects of this nature in efficient turnaround times.”
